I'm a maker,
When I was four years old, my grandmother taught me how to bake.
This sparked an obsession with sweets that I’ve carried with me my entire life, particularly cake. It’s not so much that I enjoy eating cake, I enjoy the idea of it, the aesthetic and the ritual.
I began developing a body of work that celebrated cake consisting of bulbous enameled objects that resemble spun sugar and hard candy.
Through creating these pieces, I learned to be creative with new materials and innovative ways to use them- which sometimes means casting sprinkles in resin in the shape of candy bars and using candy as a material.
